Yuanlin Universities for the elderly in Taixing and Jiangyin were officially handed over to the local Civil Affairs Bureau on 24th July and 12th August 2014 respectively, and then it will be put into service. The completion of this two universities is really a great fortune for the elderly people in this two cities. The main official leaders in both Jiangyin and Taixing attended this donation ceremony.

The building area of the university in Jiangyin is 12507 square meters including 11 levels with 1 level under ground and the university is 44.4 meters high. The whole structure is highly symbolic which reflects new Chinese style and both returns and develops the spirit of traditional culture. The donors invested the construction of the whole building in accordance with the design regulations for the elderly and bought the whole set of teaching equipment within the standard of modern universities for the elderly. After the completion of the university, it can recruit 3500 students each semester whichcan serve 7000 persons each year. The university has 9 departments, 30 courses with 150 classes. In addition, the donors also set relevant assessment incentives to manage and supervise the university’s operation after its having being put into service.

Since the formal establishment of Yuanlin Charitable Funds on 16th June 2012, it has received a total number of donation more than 506 million RMB. The Fund has made investment to build symbolic universities for the elderly in Jiangyin, Jingjiang and Taixing City. The Yuanlin university in Jingjiang ,which was delivered to the local government on 25th April 2014,has been put into service for the elderly recruited.
